RELEASED :: 2015
By the time this album was released, Tim became a top player on the Belgian blues scene and had performed all over Europe. So this third album, Stepping up, was eagerly awaited.
On this album, he swaps Delta blues for an urban Rhythm & Blues sound with influences of Swamp, Boogie and New Orleans. Stepping up was recorded live over five days at the Boma studios in Ghent.
Tiny Legs Tim proves that contemporary blues can be a lot more than ruminating the past. He developed quickly a very personal style and content wise, he transcends effortlessly all clichés.
‘I live in the heart of the city, but I used to be a country man’ The pickup line of Stepping Up immediately puts the listener on the right track.
For Tiny Legs Tim, the Blues is a philosophy, a life vision and especially a purifying force. In the album, this positive and relativistic force prevails. The 10 original songs with respect for the blues tradition radiate a regained belief in life and love.
