"Tim draws inspiration from the great names of pre-war blues such as Son House and Robert Johnson. These influences can be heard in the 14 songs recorded live (including one cover).
With an old acoustic guitar, a slide and harmonica, Tim manages to create a brooding atmosphere. The guitar sounds are controlled by an amplifier, making the music sound even more menacing.
Lyrically, Tim still occasionally harks back to his period of his illness and the listener hears this in songs like ‘Something Burning’, ‘Standing at the Crossroad’, ‘Easy to Catch as a Fool’ and ‘I Believe’
One Man Blues is an authentic-sounding blues album that suggests the songs were not recorded in Ghent, but in a shabby juke-joint deep in the Delta."
